ALL THAT PERISHES AT THE EDGE OF LAND (2019)
How does a container vessel think? What would it dream and desire while traversing the world’s largest oceans? In All That Perishes at the End of the World, Hira Nabi gives voice to Ocean Master, a container vessel that is being violently dismembered in the harbour of Gadani, Pakistan. As much as the film traces the lifeworld of this vessel, it also zooms in on the workers who’ve left their homes and families behind to do this dangerous work.
HERE AND ELSEWHERE (2014)
A collage of found footage and archive material, Here and Elsewhere is an intimate portrait of a time and place existing as fleeting memories.
Part of Focus 1 will be a conversation between Hira Nabi and Yara Yuri Safadi.
